This week some of our young people led a wellbeing walk for Youth Concern’s staff and volunteers, as part of a leadership training programme, led by Careers Youth worker, Kath Dunn and funded by Buckinghamshire Council and the Aylesbury Community Board.

As part of the programme the young people have chosen to organise six walks around parts of Aylesbury. To do so they have to plan the route, undertake a risk assessment and collate advice on what to take (water, sunscreen etc) and find out information about the wildlife encountered along the way.

The first two wellbeing walks were a great success and a real opportunity for young people, staff and volunteers to come together and discover new and beautiful parts of Aylesbury. It was also a great way to see just how far these special 18-25 year olds have come in growing their confidence, independence and purpose.

The next wellbeing walk will be held tomorrow Friday 7 August.
