On Tuesday 30 June 2026, Team Rumsey’s will be taking on a 13-mile walk, the equivalent of a half marathon, from Rumsey’s Wendover to Rumsey’s Thame across the beautiful Chiltern Hills, all in aid of their Charity of the Year, Youth Concern.
The team, made up of owner Kate Rumsey, chefs and front-of-house staff, will swap their aprons for walking boots as they tackle the route between the two chocolateries. The walk is expected to take around six hours and will test the team’s endurance across some of the Chilterns’ most scenic – and hilly – countryside.
Rumsey’s has chosen Youth Concern as its Charity of the Year for 2026. The charity supports vulnerable young people across Aylesbury Vale who are facing challenges such as homelessness, poor mental health, family breakdown, financial hardship and social isolation. Through practical support, advice and guidance, Youth Concern helps young people build resilience, improve their wellbeing and create brighter futures.
Owner Kate Rumsey said:
“This is a really big challenge for us, but we’re excited to take it on together as a team. Walking 13 miles across the Chiltern Hills won’t be easy but knowing we’re doing it to support the incredible work of Youth Concern will keep us motivated every step of the way. We know there will be a few challenging moments along the route, but we’re determined to reach Thame together and raise as much money as possible for a charity that makes such a difference to young people in our local community.”
Hannah Asquith, CEO of Youth Concern, said:
“We are incredibly grateful to everyone at Rumsey’s for choosing Youth Concern as their Charity of the Year and for taking on this fantastic challenge. Every donation raised through the Rumsey’s to Rumsey’s Walk will help us continue supporting vulnerable young people across Aylesbury Vale. Knowing that local businesses like Rumsey’s are championing young people in our community makes a real difference, and we wish the team the very best of luck on their 13-mile journey.”
The Rumsey’s to Rumsey’s Walk aims to raise vital funds to help Youth Concern continue supporting young people when they need it most.
