Our team are on hand to help with applications for college, university, training courses and apprenticeships. These can include writing a personal statement, interview preparation, sorting out accommodation and grant applications.

If you are currently in education or training, we can help you to address personal issues which may be having an impact on your attendance, ability to concentrate, behaviour or friendships.

We also work with Volunteer It Yourself, VIY, an organisation which challenges young people aged 14-24 to learn trade and employability skills through helping to fix up local youth and community facilities in need of essential repairs and improvements.

We have placed young people in a number of ViY projects.

Channel 4 presenter Guy Martin and a camera crew visited one VIY project site where our young people were gaining essential skills, as well as doing good for the community. You can see the short film on All 4/Channel 4 online – well worth a watch!

“Youth Concern helped set me up with an experience at a building site. I’m on a trial period, learning new skills, I’m a quick learner and motivated, that’s a normal thing for me. I’ve met a lot of new people, just generally feel better”

We stand apart from other youth support agencies because the support we offer is informal, flexible, responsive and designed to meet individual need at a pace which is right for each young person.
