On Thursday 23rd September, our local community foundation, Heart of Bucks, invited Youth Concern to speak to a small group of its donors to hear from some of the charities and community groups that have been supported recently. The Seeing is Believing event took place at High Sheriff of Buckinghamshire George Anson and his wife Kirsty’s beautiful home.

Our CEO Hannah Asquith enjoyed talking to George and Kirsty, Heart of Bucks’ CEO Henry Allmand, Pippa Kirkbride and Amanda Martin, Heart of Bucks trustees, Richard Gyselnck of Rotary Marlow Thames, Jill Pyre and Susie Besant. Hannah explained that young people are being called the Covid generation; research tells us the pandemic has and will continue to disproportionately affect young people’s mental health, employment prospects, and housing options. Hannah outlined the ways in which Youth Concern works with Aylesbury Vale’s vulnerable 13-25 year olds through its Drop-in Centre, counselling service, Nightstop and Next Step projects.
If you would like to invite someone from Youth Concern to speak to your group, please ask. We love raising awareness of our vital work.
