On Sunday 18^th June, Youth Concern attended the Mayor of Aylesbury’s annual Soapbox Derby where companies, groups and families race homemade, gravity powered carts through Whitehill Park. A real community event, the 1500 spectators enjoyed family entertainment and music, including our very popular ‘beat the goalie’ game!

People who scored – including the Mayor, who admits he’s more of a rugby person! – won a prize: a highly coveted (donated) Levi’s bum bag, a Youth Concern wrist band or a Youth Concern stress ball. The stress ball gave us the opportunity to talk about stress and mental health, and promote our free counselling service for 13-25 year olds.
