On Saturday a group of Aylesbury Utd directors and fans walked 25km to their away match in Leighton Buzzard whilst raising sponsorship for their long term charity partner, Youth Concern.
Director Andy Martin said “it was an enjoyable walk but I’m sure the majority were quite sore yesterday, as I was! 17 people took part which was great including an 11 year old and a 16 year old from our pan-disability team. The later played football yesterday (to be young again 😂).”
The youngest walker, 11 year old Oscar, was happy to take part. His family has supported Youth Concern for years. Both his grandmother and parents are volunteer Nightstop hosts, offering homeless young people a room in their own houses when needed.
Saturday’s 25km walk, from Youth Concern’s Drop-in Centre (picture attached), has already raised £1,816 for Youth Concern, which will help the charity support young people across Aylesbury Vale, through their Drop-in Centre, counselling service and homelessness
