On Sunday 4^th July, CEO Hannah was delighted to accept a donation of £2,000 from Rennie’s Winslow Cider.

In 2011 a group of friends were dealt the tragic blow of the death of one, followed by another of their number. As, in their words, a thinly veiled excuse to support each other through grief, the friends decided that instead of composting heaps of apples from an old orchard every year, they would make cider. By 2014, the friends realised that however much they like cider, they were producing more than they could drink (!) so began selling the cider at Winslow farmers’ market. In the founders’ words ‘a problem was created because we started making money, so all agreed the money should go to an appropriate good cause. There seemed none more appropriate than Youth Concern’.

Since then, Rennie’s Winslow Cider, this wonderful not-for-profit enterprise, has raised thousands of pounds for Youth Concern, including this latest cheque for £2,000. If you would like to buy a bottle or two, Rennie’s Winslow Cider is available from a few shops (Farm Deli in Winslow, North Marston shop, Quainton village shop) and Winslow Farmers’ Market on the first Sunday of every month.
