Anyone who has visited Youth Concern recently will know that we operate from a building that is comfortable and welcoming, and full of warmth – but it looks very tired! We took the opportunity afforded by COVID-19 to deep clean our site, have the carpets professionally cleaned and put up new signage externally, but we wanted to do more. Now, thanks to The Screwfix Foundation, we can!

The Screwfix Foundation have made a donation to Youth Concern to help us finish painting the exterior, install some outdoor seating and a basketball hoop, and cover the smoking area. We hope young people will help us realise this project. We can now plan to extend our car park which would allow volunteers, staff and visitors to park safely (we only have parking for a few cars currently, so have to use a pay and display car park nearby).

We believe young people will take even more pride in Youth Concern if they feel part of something special – something smart but friendly, that they’ve helped to improve and take ownership of. Keep an eye on social media for photos of the development: @youthconcern
