We were delighted to hear on 24th June that Youth Concern will receive £10,000 from the Vale of Aylesbury Housing Trust Thriving Communities Fund towards The Next Step Project.
Youth Concern applies to many grant-making trusts each year to secure the vast majority of its income. (Between October 2019 and September 2020, £422,000 of our £432,000 was given by donors and grant-making trusts.)
The renovation costs of converting the Edwardian family home into a supported accommodation unit, and the Next Step Project’s first year’s running costs were given, almost entirely, by grant-making trusts. Thank you to all those trusts – including, of course, the Vale of Aylesbury Housing Trust Thriving Communities Fund – for appreciating the vital work we’re doing, providing safe accommodation for up to 9 homeless young people, and helping them access bespoke support to enable them to live independently post project.
