On Wednesday 13th July, Youth Concern’s CEO Hannah was invited to speak at Fairhive’s annual conference, bringing the voice of Aylesbury Vale’s vulnerable young people to the social housing provider’s 300 employees.Hannah felt it was important to put social housing residents front and centre by helping Fairhive team members understand what the cost of living crisis really means at the sharp end, the impact Covid has had, and the vital importance of having somewhere safe to live.Hannah was also invited to launch Fairhive’s new employee volunteering programme. She is hoping some of the team members will choose to volunteer for Youth Concern.
Perhaps they will play (or be beaten by!) a young person at pool or table tennis. Perhaps they’ll try to stay inside the lines whilst doing some mindful colouring at our Drop-in Centre. Or perhaps they’ll cook up a storm in our kitchen, encouraging young people away from the ever-tempting pot noodle!
Either way, it was great to have this opportunity to raise awareness of Youth Concern’s work. If you would like a Hannah to speak at your conference or event, to bring the human stories to the fore, please get in touch. Together we can achieve so much more.
