On Tuesday 1 November, our CEO Hannah attended His Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Buckinghamshire awards with Youth Concern’s Community Ambassador, Cllr Steven Lambert.

The Lord-Lieutenant’s Awards Ceremony is an opportunity to recognise individuals who build and nurture the enduring relationships that are so important to Buckinghamshire and local community. This is done through the awarding of Medals and Her Majesty Lord-Lieutenant’s Certificates for Meritorious Service.  It was an honour for Youth Concern to be a guest of the Lord Lieutenant of Buckinghamshire, Countess Howe. We celebrated the many ways people serve their community, hearing at first-hand how everyday people make extra special contributions as volunteer reserves and cadets across the Navy, Army and Royal Air Force. It was also great, as ever, to meet and reconnect with so many other organisations that are part of Buckinghamshire’s fabric. This, after all, is what Youth Concern is all about; an organisation that serves others, serves its community, supporting vulnerable 13-25 year olds across Aylesbury Vale, thanks to the tireless efforts and tenacity of a small team of paid and volunteer extraordinary people*. *We’re recruiting!
